Tips for an enamel finish
use a dishwasher.
You can use a dishwasher for washing. This may deteriorate the natural non-stick coating, but you can restore it through the maintenance process.
preheat.
For better performance, always preheat your cast iron cookware; before using it, leave it over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes. This will help prevent food from sticking.
can fracture your utensil.
Sudden temperature changes can cause iron to crack. Avoid exposing your utensil to intense changes, such as placing it in cold water while it is still very hot. All changes should be gradual and consistent.
black residue.
It is normal that when cleaning you see dark residue when drying the utensil; this is normal and is due to oil residue that did not adhere well. If you have thick sticky areas or it begins to flake, this is excess oil, and you can recover it by restoring the pan.
heat sources.
Compatible with all heat sources, including induction. However, never slide the cookware over glass or ceramic surfaces
to avoid scratches. On induction, always use low or medium heat to avoid thermal shock.
medium heat.
Use primarily over low or medium heat. High heat can create smoke and cause food to burn or stick.
Other tips
the microwave.
Cast iron is not suitable for microwaves
handles and trivets.
The cast iron handles and grips get hot; use oven mitts, leather handle covers, silicone, or heat protectors
knives, keep in mind.
You can use wood, bamboo, silicone, or even heat-resistant metal utensils.
Using metal utensils may cause scratches on the seasoning.
care for your utensil.
Proper care and seasoning will make your cookware progressively more non-stick.
Acidic foods.
Acidic foods such as citrus, beans, or tomatoes can weaken the seasoning. Avoid cooking with these foods until the utensil is very well seasoned.
when cooking.
Use vegetable or animal oil to carry out the seasoning process or maintenance. We do not recommend olive oil due to its low smoke point, as it will leave a sticky residue.
is unique.
Due to sand casting and traditional processes, each piece of cast iron is unique. Your cookware may have irregularities that are purely aesthetic.
stick.
Some food may stick during the first few uses. Use a little more oil until the seasoning strengthens and stabilizes with use.
